Douglas scores 2nd round KO

WHITEHALL, NY (April 13, 2013)—Last night at the Whitehall Athletic Club, prized Middleweight prospect Antoine Douglas scored a spectacular 2nd round stoppage over Juan Zapata to raise his perfect mark to 6-0 with 4 knockouts.

Douglas of Washington, D.C dropped Zapata once in round one and two times in the 2nd frame.  Douglas worked the body throughout the fight and the body work set up the first two knockdowns.  With Zapata’s hands guarding his body, Douglas came upstairs with a devastating left hook to drop Zapata completely out in the 2nd frame.

“That’s the kind of performance we expect from Antoine”, said Vito Mielnicki of GH3 Promotions who promote Douglas along with Greg Cohen Promotions.

“We are keeping Antoine active and he will be on the SHO Box undercard on May 10th in Miami, Oklahoma”

On the amateur portion of the Pro-Am card, Vito Mielnicki Jr. of the Elite Heat Boxing Club won a three round decision over Sharif Danele in the 10 year old-75 lb division.

Mielnicki’s teammate on the Elite Heat Boxing Team, Zahir Salaam scored a decision win in the 9 year old-70 lb. division
