Two weeks ago, Ruslan Provodnikov took to twitter by saying that he was ready to face Golden Boy's elite junior welterweight and welterweight fighters. Now that Arum's fighters seem to be off limits, there's more of a chance that Provodnikov can get a Golden Boy opponent next. Provodnikov made a name for himself in his close decision loss to Timothy Bradley in March where he came just seconds away from a possible knockout over Bradley. It was expected that he would face someone in the Top Rank stable next, but with Marquez-Bradley signed, and Pacquiao-Rios signed, that only left Mike Alvarado, who is now out indefinitely with a broken hand. Provodnikov now wants a shot at Golden Boy's stable.
"I'm ready to fight the best of Golden Boy's fighters at 140-147." He tweeted. If Golden Boy is interested, which they hopefully would be, there is alot of potential matchups for Provodnikov. Golden Boy is stacked with Devon Alexander, Lucas Matthysse, Lamont Peterson, Zab Judah, Marcos Maidana, Amir Khan, and Joseito Lopez. Because of Provodnikov's aggressive fan friendly style, any of those matchups would be very intriguing.
