Undefeated WBO featherweight champion Mikey Garcia has lost his title before even taking a step into the ring against Juan Manuel Lopez. Garcia tipped the scale earlier today at 128 pounds, two pounds over the 126 featherweight limit. Garcia was given two hours to try to lose the weight but chose not to. Instead, his title will go to Juan Manuel Lopez should he lose tomorrow's fight, or it will become vacant if he comes out victorious. The fight was mildly threatened to being canceled but Lopez's camp and Garcia's camp worked out a financial deal to allow the fight to continue. Lopez weighed in a little over 125. The fight starts at 10pm Saturday night on HBO.
