Kovalev ready for Hopkins, Cleverly may be next

After easily dismantling Cornelius White Friday night on NBC Sports Network, Sergey Kovalev, considered the most dangerous light heavyweight in boxing, is ready to face Bernard Hopkins for the IBF title. Kovalev became the number one contender for the IBF title with his victory and after the fight he stated that he wants to face Hopkins next. Hopkins' fight against Murat was cancelled due to a Visa issue which may make Hopkins in need of an opponent in September. Despite Kovalev's wish, it was reported that contracts were all ready written up for Kovalev to face undefeated British WBO champion Nathan Cleverly next. While nothing has been signed, a fight against Bernard Hopkins may have to wait for Kovalev.
