Who Will Be The Undisputed King At Super Middleweight?

With the dust soon to settle after the skirmish between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, the boxing world will need a new focus and thankfully it will not have to wait all that long either, as the super middleweight division enters the spotlight.

A spotlight that will be shared by both Canelo Alvarez and Jacob Plant and with these two men possessing every major super middleweight belt between them, it means everything will be going on the line come November 6th.

In the red corner, is Alvarez and with the WBA (Super), WBC, WBO and The Ring super middleweight belts to call upon, he is certainly bringing a lot more to the table. However, there is one prize missing from that collection and that is one that sits in the figurative blue corner.

Because his opponent may only possess the IBF version of the super middleweight crown, but it is that belt that Canelo needs in order to complete his own collection and of course, Plant would love to take everything that his upcoming foe calls his own.

Which means that whoever comes out on top between these two fighters will not only scoop all the gold for themselves, but they will also make history and that history comes in the shape of being undisputed.

Something that has never been done at this particular weight and that is why the eyes of the boxing world and the betting world are ready to give next month’s fight their absolute and fullest attention.

With so much at stake, there is no doubt that this will generate an incredible amount of interest when it comes to wagering and for those who are new to the world of online gambling, a sportsbook deposit welcome bonus will be of great use to them.

Even for those who have never placed a sporting wager before, the clash between Canelo and Plant will be the perfect opportunity in which to do so and when there is money on the outcome, the fight itself will take on even more interest.

While when it comes to the betting markets themselves, it is hard to look past Canelo as the man who will become the first ever super middleweight king and at odds of -500, it is hard to argue such a case.

Then again, when it comes to boxing of any kind, the two men in the ring will always have a puncher's chance at the very least and although Price may be the outsider in all of this, he is certainly no slouch either.

With the 29-year-old currently displaying a 21-0 record, he will arrive at the MGM Garden Arena with some pedigree and with three IBF super middleweight title defences already to his name, he will look to make it four in just a few weeks.

Of course, if he were to make it four, it would also mean one of two things. The first, is a somewhat unlikely draw and both fighters getting to keep their previously obtained prizes or the second, is that the Tennessee-born pugilist stuns the world.

After getting the better of José Uzcátegui to win the IBF crown back in January 2019, he then disposed of Mike Lee in his first defence and if there is one positive omen to take from that, it is the venue of this success.

One that saw the two men get it on at the MGM Garden Arena and with ‘Sweethands’ already knowing what it takes to win in Paradise, Nevada, this will provide something of a pre-fight confidence boost.

Then again, when it comes to winning on the biggest stage, Canelo Alvarez really is your man and with a record of 56-1-2, he makes an incredibly strong case to be called the world’s current best pound for pound fighter.

A mantle that has been earned after finally beating Gennady Golovkin and although these two warriors drew in the first superfight back in September 2017, almost a year later to the day, it would be the Mexican machine who came out on top.

Since that victory in 2018, Alvarez has won all of the six fights that he has contested and in doing so, has long since put the only real blot on his copybook behind him – that of course being the defeat to Floyd Mayweather. Then again, everybody loses to Floyd in the end.

With a half-dozen fight winning streak in his back pocket, the 31-year-old multiple weight champion is looking to go one better than just unifying the division, he now wants to be known as undisputed instead.

While if he can adhere to the formbook and display just why he is considered the best fighter in the world today, then there is absolutely no reason why Canelo Alvarez cannot straddle the top of the super middleweight mountain once and for all.
