Tyson & Holyfield Approve of Paul Brothers and their Burgeoning Boxing Careers

In perhaps something of a surprise for the boxing world, it appears that legends Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have given their seal of approval to Jake and Logan Paul as the two begin to make a distinct impact on the boxing world.

Both brothers found fame as social media stars before getting in the ring and have actually made a decent go of it in the field and are now starting to make genuine inroads into the sport.

Now every time the pair have a fight on the horizon, the number of fans taking an interest is astonishing, as is the level of activity via the best boxing betting sites, where all the major brands are happily taking wagers on their bouts.

One would have imagined that some purists wouldn’t be all that happy about individuals stepping into the ring, which initially seemed like little more than an attempt to gain attention. As it turns out, both Paul brothers are now very much focused on their respective boxing careers.

Heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson has discussed the impact that the pair have had on the boxing stage, stating favorably;

"Those guys are helping boxing so much," before adding;

"Professional boxers, they are so jealous."

"They never made a million bucks yet,"

"These guys made millions and millions of dollars. These guys never had an amateur fight, [other boxers] had hundreds of amateur fights." Tyson concluded.

It’s an opinion shared by Tyson’s former enemy Evander Holyfield, who commented;

"I felt that it helped boxing because it shows everybody these guys who really don’t know how to box, but they’re just swinging, they’re making all that money,"

"These guys are not even professional. They just in there doing their thing." Holyfield added.

Jake Paul has discussed how he has been negatively received by many within the boxing world, as well as those from outside the industry;

"I don’t like it,"

"I’m a professional boxer. Just my lifestyle, my mentality, what I do every day, who I surround myself with."

Every time the pair have a fight lined up, there is the inevitable judgment as to the quality of the fighters they are paired up against, which is perhaps to be expected.

Jake Paul is 6-0 in his professional boxing career, with his latest fight, which took place in October, coming against MMA star Anderson Silva. His older brother, Logan, has only had one ‘professional’ fight, and that came against fellow social media star KSI, with the American losing on a split decision.

Of the pair, it’s definitely Jake who is more serious about their burgeoning boxing career, and he has been attempting to goad English fighter Tommy Fury into agreeing to fight him, but as yet, a date for such a fight has not been set.

While you could argue that the brothers have ridden their own publicity wave to get to where they are, you can’t argue with their commitment to the sport, and the public interest in their fights can only be an overall positive factor for the sport.
