Danny Garcia vacates WBC title, Matthysse-Postol ordered

WBC Junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (30-0, 17 KO's) told the WBC today that he is vacating his title to move up to the welterweight division. Garcia has a set date for August 1st where he will take on Paulie Malignaggi at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn. The move doesn't come as a surprise. Garcia has fought his last two fights above the 140 weight limit with no titles on the line.

In light of the situation the WBC has ordered Viktor Postol (27-0, 11 KO's) to take on fan favorite Lucas Matthysse (37-3, 34 KO's) for the vacant title. The bout is expected to take place sometime in the fall.
