Ricky Hatton offers his take on Oleksandr Usyk Vs Daniel Dubois

The undisputed heavyweight championship bout was in his mind as the British boxing great saw it.

Fans shouldn't immediately write off Daniel Dubois' prospects of defeating Oleksandr Usyk, the undisputed world heavyweight champion, according to British boxing star Ricky Hatton.

On August 26, Usyk and Dubois will square off in Poland. This will be the Ukrainian's first bout after his second straight victory over Anthony Joshua and the shambles of the WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury's contract talks.

Now that he wants to defend his IBF, WBA, and WBO belts, Usyk is focusing on his mandatory opponents, starting with Dubois.

Usyk is a massive favorite entering into this bout, becoming a legitimate contender in the betting odds since Dubois has lost to the greatest heavyweights in the category in the past. The best illustration of this was when Dubois faced Joe Joyce, when "The Juggernaut" defeated Dubois in the tenth round of their fight. Even though, sports betting will not be available for the fight, the boxing fanbase in the state will be able to take advantage of sports betting promos in KY and bet for their favorite fighter in late September.

The sole defeat in Dubois' 20 fight professional career is this one, and the 25-year-old entered this contest with Usyk having won four straight bouts.

Even though Dubois undoubtedly has tremendous knockout power, many expect Usyk to use his better footwork to neutralize any danger the British challenger may provide. However, Hatton has noted that everything is possible in heavyweight boxing, and Dubois does have a potential to pull off a major shock.

"Everyone would put their last pound on Usyk," Hatton said when speaking to DAZN on behalf of Genting Casino.

"But if you look at the size difference, granted AJ could not get past Usyk, and what can happen in the heavyweight division sometimes, if you start writing Daniel Dubois off, that could come back to bite you.

"Fighters like Usyk, Olympic gold medalist, undisputed cruiserweight champion, unified heavyweight champion, they don’t come around too often.

"If Dubois did not land a glove on him, none of us would be shocked, but if Dubois does hit him on the chin, we should not be shocked either.

"Especially in the heavyweight division, you have got to be open minded, but I think Usyk will win on points, but it’s unfair on Dubois to write him off completely."
