Carlos Cuadras defeated Dixon Flores by TKO in the 5 round, Saturday evening in Guamuchil, Mexico, live on Televisa for the WBC World super flyweight title. Cuadras started out tactical and slowly applying pressure. Flores (11-3-2, 3KOs) was hurt in rounds three and four, but stayed on his feet fighting back. Carlos Cuadras picking up the intensity started to land bigged shots hurting Flores who had no answers. As each round past it looked like Cuadras was simply too much for Dixon Flores. Ref Frank Garza to halt the contest after he had see enough. This was Cuadras fourth consecutive defense of the super flyweight title he won against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. There is a potential rematch with Sor Rungvisai next year.
