Ricky Burns vs Edis Tatli for the European lightweight title

Ricky Burns (38-5-1, 12 KOs) , will challenge European Boxing Union lightweight champion Edis Tatli (25-1, 8 KOs), at the Sheffield Arena on October 24th. This is a scheduled 12 round bout added to the Kell Brook vs Diego Gabriel Chaves fight bill.

Former WBO super-featherweight and lightweight champion Burns was recently in action this Summer defeating Ghanaian Prince Ofotsu in 5 rounds when Ofotsu's corner threw in the towel. Before the Ofotsu, bout Burns lost to Omar Figueroa Jr in May by UD over 12 rounds. Ricky Burns has a stacked resume with names like; Raymundo Beltran, Michael Katsidis, & Terence Crawford. He is looking to keep his boxing career alive and moving forward in the ranks.

Tatli's only defeat in 26 bouts was in a WBA world title challenge against Cuba's Richar Abril where he lost by a close MD, scores judges: Carla Caiz 114-114, Hubert Earle 112-116, Leszek Jankowiak 111-117. Tatli, debut @ 138lbs in 2007 against Mohammed Ali Cherif, where he won by a four round UD.
