Mikaël Zewski is hungry for the spotlight again.
After taking nearly two years off following his departure from Top Rank, Zewski returned in June to defeat the unknown Fernando Silva by unanimous decision in a scheduled eight-round contest.
Zewski (28-1, 21 KO’s), 28, of Quebec, who previously held the NABF welterweight title from 2014-2015, signed a one-year deal with Groupe Yvon Michel in September and can expect to be pretty busy for the next several months.
Sources tell FightNights.com that Zewski will return to the ring on Dec. 7 at the Montreal Casino against an opponent to be determined. If he comes out victorious, the four-time Canadian National Champion will fight again on Jan. 27 at Centre Videotron for the NABF title he previously held.
Egidijus Kavaliauskas (18-0, 15 KO’s), 29, a Lithuania native based in Oxnard, who is known as “Mean Machine” is the current titleholder after scoring a seventh-round TKO of Mahonry Montes in September.
The Dec. 7 card will feature Jamaican-born Shakeel Phinn (16-1, 11 KO’s), who also fights out of Quebec.
