Benavidez Dominates Morrell with Unanimous Decision Victory

In an electrifying clash between two unbeaten fighters, Mexican star David "El Monstro" Benavidez solidified his place at the top of the sport with a commanding unanimous decision over Cuban powerhouse David Morrell Jr. The fight, which headlined a PBC Pay-Per-View event on Prime Video, took place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Benavidez not only retained his Interim WBC Light Heavyweight Title but also claimed the WBA Light Heavyweight Title.

Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs) dominated from start to finish, out-landing Morrell (11-1, 9 KOs) in nearly every category. The two fighters exchanged heavy punches in a thrilling contest that saw over 1,000 combined punches thrown. Judges scored the bout 118-108 and 115-111 twice in favor of Benavidez.

Benavidez praised Morrell's toughness but stated, “This is 'El Monstro's' world. I knew he’d be tough, and I prepared hard for this. We gave the fans a great show tonight.” Morrell, though defeated, remained gracious, saying, "It was my turn to lose. I’m young and I’ll keep pushing for another opportunity.”

The fight saw an intense exchange of power punches, with Benavidez connecting on 40.5% of his shots compared to Morrell’s 27.5%. Morrell did manage to score a knockdown in round 11, catching Benavidez with a right hand, but was penalized a point for hitting after the bell.

Despite the setback, both fighters showed mutual respect after the final bell, embracing and acknowledging the hard-fought battle. Benavidez, ever confident, set his sights on unifying all four titles in the division, saying, "Whoever I need to fight next, I’ll be ready."

Fulton Reclaims Featherweight Title in Rematch with Figueroa

In the co-main event, Stephen Fulton Jr. (23-1, 8 KOs) captured the WBC Featherweight World Championship with a unanimous decision victory over two-division world champion Brandon "The Heartbreaker" Figueroa (25-2-1, 19 KOs). The judges scored the bout 117-111 and 116-112 twice in Fulton’s favor.

Fulton, a masterful counterpuncher, showcased his superior technique and sharpness throughout the fight. “I capitalized on his slowed punch output and used my jab effectively,” said Fulton. Figueroa, although disappointed, acknowledged Fulton’s victory and expressed his desire for a potential rematch.

Cruz Edges Fierro in All-Action War

In a thrilling 10-round super lightweight battle, former world champion Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz (27-3-1, 18 KOs) edged out Angel Fierro (23-3-2, 18 KOs) via unanimous decision, with scores of 98-92, 97-93, and 96-94. The fight was a wild back-and-forth affair, with both fighters throwing over 1,400 punches. Cruz set the tone early with a powerful first round and continued to dominate the action.

After the fight, Cruz praised Fierro’s effort, saying, “Fierro deserves all the respect in the world. I fight for my fans.”

Ramos Stops Rosario in the Eighth Round

In a middleweight showdown, rising star Jesus "Mono" Ramos (22-1, 17 KOs) scored an eighth-round TKO over former unified world champion Jeison Rosario (24-5-2, 18 KOs). Ramos used a relentless body attack to break down Rosario, landing 54 body shots in the first four rounds. A flurry of punches in the eighth round eventually forced the referee to step in.

Ramos expressed his satisfaction with the win, saying, “I’m glad we both came out of the ring healthy. I’m ready for the next step.”

Cuello and Feliciano Shine on PBC Prime Video Undercard

Argentine Olympian Mirco Cuello (15-0, 12 KOs) delivered a dramatic final-round stoppage over Christian Olivo (22-2-1, 9 KOs) in a WBA Featherweight Title Eliminator. Cuello, who had been behind on the scorecards, dropped Olivo twice in the 10th round, securing the win by TKO.

WBA No. 1-rated middleweight Yoenli Feliciano Hernandez (7-0, 7 KOs) dominated Angel Ruiz (19-3-1, 13 KOs), scoring a fifth-round TKO victory. Feliciano controlled the fight from start to finish, sending a statement to the 160-pound division.

Moton Victorious in Lightweight Clash

Top prospect Curmel Moton (7-0, 6 KOs) scored a dominant third-round TKO over Frank Zaldivar (5-2, 3 KOs) in their lightweight bout. Moton’s powerful flurry in the third round forced the referee to halt the action, securing his fourth-straight stoppage win.
