Paddy Donovan vs Lewis Crocker set for March

Paddy “The Real Deal” Donovan, a rising Irish boxing star with an undefeated record of 14-0, is gearing up for one of the biggest matchups of his career. After being forced to withdraw from a planned December fight due to a minor injury, Donovan is now preparing for a highly anticipated showdown with his arch-rival, Lewis “The Croc” Crocker, in what is being billed as one of the most exciting Irish boxing bouts in history. The fight is scheduled for March 1st at SES Arena and will headline a Matchroom Boxing event, streamed live on DAZN.

This clash between the undefeated Donovan, who hails from Limerick, and Belfast's Crocker, a rising star with a perfect record of 20-0, is not just about national pride. It will serve as an International Boxing Federation (IBF) world title eliminator, with the winner potentially positioning themselves just two fights away from a world title shot.

Donovan, currently ranked highly by the WBA (#5), IBF (#6), and WBC (#14), has spoken about his journey, noting how personal life changes have shaped his growth both as a person and as a fighter. From becoming a husband and father to dealing with personal losses, he believes these experiences have made him a better boxer. “I believe I’m the next world champion,” he says, with a clear focus on his goal.

His team, led by trainer Andy Lee and co-manager Keith Sullivan, is confident heading into the fight. Despite concerns over the injury, they believe Donovan is in top form and ready to prove himself against Crocker in what promises to be an explosive battle.

Additionally, Donovan has used his platform to raise awareness for mental health, dedicating his recent fights to Pieta, a charity focused on suicide prevention. Having tragically lost two relatives to suicide, he hopes to bring attention to the crisis and offer support to those in need.

As Donovan continues his path toward a potential world title, March 1st will be a crucial step in fulfilling his long-held dream of becoming a world champion.
