Muratalla: “This Is a Dream Opportunity”

Muratalla (22-0, 17 KOs), a rising star from Fontana, California, earned his spot in the title picture with an impressive run through 2023 and 2024. His highlight reel includes a two-round demolition of Jeremia Nakathila, an eighth-round stoppage of Diego Torres, and a second-round TKO of Jesus Perez. He also secured 10-round decision wins over former world champion Tevin Farmer and contender Xolisani Ndongeni.

“This is a huge opportunity for me, my family, and my team,” said Muratalla following a recent session at the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy.

“It’s exciting and motivating because it gets me one step closer to even bigger fights. I know Abdullaev is tough and improving, but I’ve worked too hard not to capitalize on this moment.”

Despite the mounting hype, Muratalla remains focused on the task at hand.

“I’m not looking past him. He’s strong and comes forward with a high guard, but I think I have the speed and skills to outclass him. I still haven’t even shown everything I can do.”

Abdullaev: Veteran with Championship Experience

Abdullaev (20-1, 12 KOs) has reeled off nine consecutive wins since his lone defeat to then-rising star Devin Haney in 2019. During that run, the Russian standout has collected impressive wins over respected names such as Jorge Linares, Dejan Zlaticanin, and Roger Gutierrez.

Muratalla is well aware of the threat Abdullaev presents.

“He’s not just here to fight — he’s here to win. He’s grown since the Haney fight. But I’ve also grown, and I’m ready to show that on fight night.”

This May 10 co-feature promises fireworks, as two world-class lightweights collide with a career-defining title on the line. For Muratalla, the opportunity is clear.

“All fighters dream of this. I’ve put in the work, and now it’s time to show out.”
