Keyshawn Davis Brings the Belt Home to Norfolk

Undefeated lightweight champion Keyshawn “The Businessman” Davis (13-0, 9 KOs) returns to his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia, this Saturday, June 7, to defend his WBO world title against dangerous Dominican contender Edwin De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs) at Scope Arena.

Davis claimed the belt in February with a commanding fourth-round TKO over Denys Berinchyk. Just months prior, he brought the house down in Norfolk with a second-round demolition of Gustavo Lemos in front of a sold-out crowd of over 10,000 fans.

Now, Davis is back — as champion — and ready to give his hometown another show.

Co-Feature: Abdullah Mason Looks to Shine

In the co-main event, rising lightweight sensation Abdullah Mason (18-0, 16 KOs) continues his rapid ascent, facing rugged veteran Jeremia Nakathila (26-4, 21 KOs) in a 10-round clash. Mason, just 21 years old, has dazzled with power and precision, but Nakathila’s heavy hands and experience could test the young phenom like never before.

It’s a big night for the Davis brothers — aka DB3. Keyshawn defends his title, while older brother Kelvin Davis (15-0, 8 KOs) faces Philly tough guy Nahir Albright (16-2, 7 KOs) in a 10-round junior welterweight showdown. The youngest, Keon Davis (3-0, 2 KOs), meets fellow unbeaten prospect Michael Velez-Garcia in a welterweight scrap.

Fighter Quotes from the Final Press Conference

Keyshawn Davis:

"He’s coming to fight and put on a show. But he’s not going to hear ‘And the New.’ I’m the Businessman. I make statements — and I’m knocking out Edwin De Los Santos on Saturday."

Edwin De Los Santos:

"I’ve already beaten death. I had a blood clot in my leg, but I’m back. And now I’m going to shock the world and hear ‘And the New’ — for me, my country, and all Latinos."

Abdullah Mason:

"Nakathila’s tough and he can punch, but I’m locked in. I’m going to stay sharp and get him out of there like the rest. I’m stealing the show."

Jeremia Nakathila:

"I’ve been in with the best. This is nothing new. I respect Mason, but I’ve trained for this, and I’m ready to show what I can do."

Kelvin Davis:

"He’s just a man in my way. He’s too little. I love the pressure — and I’m putting him to sleep."

Nahir Albright:

"I’ve been through hell since the Keyshawn fight. I’m a single dad and I kept grinding. Now I’m here — and Kelvin’s going to find out what that fight back looks like."

Troy Isley:

"I’m not talking much. I’m locked in and ready to show I’m the king of this middleweight division."

Keon Davis:

"I stepped away from boxing for a while, but I realized I’ve got real talent. I’m back now — with my brothers — and better than ever."
