Brick City’s about to bring the heat.
Middleweight rising star Vito Mielnicki Jr. (20-1-1, 12 KOs) is ready for the spotlight as he returns home to headline a stacked fight night this Saturday, June 21, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Mielnicki will square off against unbeaten Polish contender Kamil Gardzielik (19-0, 4 KOs) in a 10-round battle for the vacant WBO Global, USWBC, and USBA middleweight titles.
“I remember being here as a kid watching Tomasz Adamek fight,” Mielnicki said. “Now I’m the main event. I’m living my dream.”
But it won’t be easy. Gardzielik is coming in hungry and focused.
“I’ve had a perfect training camp. This is my moment,” he said. “I’ve trained hard for this opportunity, and I’m ready to make it count.”
CO-MAIN EVENT: Tucker vs. Simpson – The Grudge Gets Settled
After weeks of social media trash talk and sparring rumors, Jahi Tucker (14-1-1, 6 KOs) and Lorenzo “Truck” Simpson (15-2, 9 KOs) are finally stepping into the ring to settle the score. The 10-round middleweight co-feature has all the makings of a heated showdown.
“All that sparring s**t is done,” Tucker said. “Saturday night, I’m cooking this guy on ESPN+. It’s not going to be a fight. It’s going to be a massacre.”
Simpson fired back:
“Ask anyone who was in the gym—he never did anything. If he comes in with that goofy s**t, I’m putting him out.”
Polish Power Clash in the Heavyweight Division
In a unique matchup, two undefeated Polish heavyweights will collide as Damian Knyba (15-0, 9 KOs) meets Marcin Siwy (25-0-1, 12 KOs) in a 10-round clash. Despite no bad blood between them, both men are eager to prove they belong among the top big men in boxing.
“He’s got more experience than me, but I’m here to show I’m ready,” said Knyba.
Siwy kept it simple: “I came to win, and I came to put on a show.”
