CES Boxing Bolsters Roster with Four Rising Stars Ahead of ‘Summer Heat 2025’ at Mohegan Sun Arena

UNCASVILLE, CT — As the summer reaches full throttle, CES Boxing is turning up the temperature inside the ring with the signing of four electrifying prospects just in time for ‘Summer Heat 2025’, taking place Saturday, July 19, at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

Joining the growing CES stable are:

Jacob “Lefty” Marrero (9-0, 7 KOs), a surging junior welterweight from Bridgeport, CT

Gianni Liguori (2-0-1, 2 KOs), a crowd-pleasing lightweight from Branford, CT

Tyler Macari, a promising junior middleweight out of Cranston, RI

Ayowole “Tom” Jones, a hungry light heavyweight based in Providence, RI

The additions reflect CES Boxing’s ongoing mission to discover and develop top-tier talent from New England, reinforcing its reputation as a launchpad for future global stars.

“These are the kinds of young men who represent the future of CES Boxing,” said Jimmy Burchfield, Sr., CES Founder and President. “They are hungry, fearless, and proud to represent their communities every time they step into the ring. We’re thrilled to welcome them to the CES family and can’t wait to showcase their talent on July 19 at one of the best arenas in the world.”

Jacob Marrero, known for his speed and power, will face the toughest test of his career against Alberto Mercado (17-7-1, 4 KOs), a rugged Puerto Rican veteran based in Hartford. Since returning from a five-year hiatus in 2024, Marrero has reeled off five straight victories, four by knockout, and has quickly reestablished himself as one of the region’s most dangerous contenders.

Gianni Liguori, a charismatic and undefeated lightweight, will go toe-to-toe with Anthony Mora (6-3-1, 4 KOs) of New Britain in what promises to be a high-action bout. Liguori’s fast hands and finishing instincts have already made him a fan favorite in just three pro outings.

Two fighters will make their professional debuts on the card: Ayowole Tom Jones squares off against Jhony Dos Santos of Winchester, MA, in a light heavyweight tilt, while Tyler Macari faces Kevin Spraags of Arizona in a junior middleweight clash.

These matchups form part of the undercard for what promises to be a red-hot night of action at Mohegan Sun Arena, with more featured bouts to be announced.

Tickets for ‘Summer Heat 2025’ are available now at CESFights.com, Ticketmaster, and the Mohegan Sun Box Office.
