Fight fans can expect fireworks on August 2 when Oscar “La Migraña” Duarte (29-2-1, 23 KOs) faces Kenneth “Bossman” Sims Jr. (22-2-1, 8 KOs) in a high-stakes 12-round super lightweight main event at Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago. The event, promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Cancun Boxing, will be broadcast live on DAZN.
Tickets are currently on sale through Ticketmaster.com and GoldenBoy.com, with prices ranging from $25 to $150, plus applicable service fees. A limited number of Golden Boy VIP Experience packages are also available, which include exclusive merchandise and premium fight night upgrades.
The undercard features a co-main event between two former world champions. Houston’s Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (29-3, 24 KOs) will make his first appearance of 2025 against Joseph “JoJo” Diaz (34-7, 15 KOs) of South El Monte, California, in a 10-round super lightweight showdown. Prograis is aiming to bounce back from a challenging 2024 and reestablish himself among boxing’s elite, while Diaz looks to continue his recent resurgence following a unanimous decision win in June.
Cruiserweight action is also on tap, with Las Vegas' Tristan “Sweet T” Kalkreuth (15-1, 10 KOs) taking on Toronto’s Kareem Hackett (12-1, 6 KOs) in a 10-round contest. Heavyweights Joshua Edwards (3-0, 3 KOs), a U.S. Olympian, and Cayman Audie (4-1, 2 KOs) will meet in a six-round bout.
Kicking off the DAZN broadcast, undefeated Yair Gallardo (9-0, 8 KOs) of Mexico City will face veteran Quinton Rankin (21-9-2, 16 KOs) in an eight-round clash. The preliminary lineup includes super bantamweight Gael Cabrera (8-0, 5 KOs) in an eight-round bout against an opponent to be announced, and heavyweight Deontae Pettigrew (15-0, 11 KOs) of Chicago taking on Skylar Lacy (8-1-2, 6 KOs) of Indianapolis.
Rising lightweight prospect Mehki Phillips (6-0, 6 KOs) will also be featured in a six-rounder to open the night. His opponent will be announced soon.
The night marks a key turning point for Regis Prograis, who looks to reset after decision losses to Devin Haney and Jack Catterall. A former WBA and WBC super lightweight titleholder, Prograis has proven his pedigree in world-class competition. With a renewed focus, he is aiming for another run at championship gold.
Joseph Diaz, a 2012 Olympian and two-division world champion, returns to the co-main spotlight with momentum. Known for his relentless pressure and durable style, Diaz is out to prove he still belongs at the top level of the sport.
With a stacked card and meaningful fights across several weight classes, the August 2 event in Chicago promises to deliver a memorable night of action for fight fans worldwide.
