Team USA Heads to England Ahead of 2025 World Boxing Championships

The 2025 USA Boxing Elite High Performance Team has officially departed for Sheffield, England, where they will hold an acclimation camp ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 World Boxing Championships. The inaugural tournament is set for September 4–14 at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.

The camp, which runs from August 17 to September 1, is being hosted at Great Britain Boxing’s training facility in Sheffield. There, Team USA will sharpen its skills alongside top international talent before making the short trip to Liverpool, where 14 American boxers will chase gold on the world stage.

A Balanced Squad: Seven Men, Seven Women

Team USA will send a 14-member roster to Liverpool — seven men and seven women — highlighted by five Olympians, one world champion, and one youth world champion. Collectively, the squad has already secured 16 international medals in 2025, including two golds, five silvers, and nine bronzes.

Spotlight on Yoseline Perez and Kelvin Watts

Among the standout names is Yoseline Perez (Houston, Texas), who has emerged as one of the program’s most reliable performers this year. Competing in three tournaments in 2025, Perez has compiled an 8-2 international record, capturing one gold and two silvers. Known for her dominant style, she has secured 62.5 percent of her victories by unanimous decision, making her a serious contender in Liverpool.

On the men’s side, Kelvin Watts (Chesapeake, Va.) brings momentum into the championships after medaling in both of his 2025 international outings. The 90+ kg powerhouse claimed a silver and bronze earlier this year and will now aim to deliver his best performance yet on the global stage.

The Road Ahead

With proven medalists and rising stars, Team USA enters Liverpool with confidence and momentum. The inaugural World Boxing Championships will provide a new platform for American boxers to test themselves against elite competition and potentially set the tone heading into 2026.
