Daniel Dubois defends the WBO heavyweight title against Fabio Wardley at the O2 Arena in London, in a rematch of their May 9 meeting at Co-op Live in Manchester. The card is broadcast by DAZN.
The first fight was contested for the same belt. Wardley dropped Dubois with a right hand in the opening seconds and put him down again in the third round, but Dubois recovered and took over behind his jab and combinations. Wardley continued to fight back with a damaged nose and a swollen eye until referee Howard Foster stopped the bout in the 11th round, giving Dubois the TKO win and a second heavyweight world championship.
Wardley activated a rematch clause after that result, which is why the two meet again on an immediate turnaround. The title remains with Dubois going into the fight, and Wardley returns as the challenger.
