Tokyo silver medalist Ben Whittaker is set for a highly anticipated rematch with Liam Cameron on April 20th, headlining Boxxer’s show at Birmingham’s bp pulse LIVE. Whittaker (8-0-1, 5 KO)—who made waves by defeating Imam Khataev en route to his Olympic silver—brought plenty of flair to the pro ranks, though some uneven outings raised questions about whether he could truly contend at the highest levels.

Those doubts came to a head when he faced Cameron (23-6-1, 10 KO). Despite absorbing Whittaker’s best shots, Cameron appeared on the verge of wearing him down until both fighters tumbled over the ropes in the sixth round. Whittaker’s ensuing leg injury forced a halt to the fight, resulting in a technical draw. Although Cameron was frustrated by the inconclusive finish, he earned a Queensberry contract—and now sets his sights on an even bigger payday in the rematch.
