Tszyu vs. Mendoza Confirmed for WBO Title Showdown on October 15th

Tim Tszyu's forthcoming defense of the WBO super welterweight world title in Australia on Sunday, October 15 has been officially confirmed by No Limit Boxing today.

This marks Tim Tszyu's inaugural defense of the WBO super-welterweight world championship, earned through the organization's prompt elevation to full champion status, closely aligned with the moment Jermell Charlo steps into the ring for his much-anticipated encounter with Canelo Alvarez on September 30.

In the event that the WBC follows suit and decides to strip Charlo of his title, the stage would be set for Mendoza to ascend, potentially turning this bout into a world title unification showdown.

This will be Tim Tszyu's third fight within a span of just seven months. His impressive journey began with a knockout victory over former WBC world champion Tony Harrison in Sydney in March, followed by a successful encounter with world-rated Mexican fighter Carlos Ocampo on the Gold Coast in July.

Mendoza's credentials include a thunderous victory over former unified champion Jeison Rosario in November of the preceding year, followed by a brutal knockout to claim the WBC interim-title at 154-pounds against the previously unbeaten Sebastian Fundora.
