Ryan Garcia Obliterates Benn
Ryan Garcia made a major statement Saturday night, stopping Conor Benn in just two rounds to retain his WBC welterweight championship at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Garcia used his speed and timing to control the action from the opening bell, catching the aggressive Benn as he attempted to close the distance. In the second round, Garcia landed a huge right hand that sent Benn to the canvas. Benn managed to beat the count, but Garcia immediately went after the wounded challenger, unloading along the ropes until referee Thomas Taylor stepped in at 1:25 of the round. (BoxingInsider.com)
The impressive performance gives Garcia a successful first defense of his WBC title and immediately sets up the possibility of another massive fight.
