After years of negotiations, false starts and speculation, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are finally set to share the ring.
The long-awaited all-British heavyweight showdown was officially announced Thursday, with Fury and Joshua scheduled to meet on Friday, December 11, 2026, at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The blockbuster event will stream live exclusively on Netflix, according to the newly released promotional poster.
The announcement ends one of the longest-running sagas in modern boxing. Fury and Joshua have been linked to a fight for more than a decade, including periods when the two British stars simultaneously held virtually every major heavyweight championship between them. Multiple attempts to make the fight collapsed over the years, but negotiations accelerated again in 2026.

Cardiff ultimately won out after several potential locations were discussed, including Wembley Stadium and Madison Square Garden in New York. Principality Stadium offers a retractable roof and has a history of hosting massive boxing events.
Joshua is particularly familiar with the venue. He defeated Carlos Takam there in 2017 before returning in 2018 to defeat Joseph Parker and unify heavyweight titles.
The stadium can accommodate approximately 74,000 spectators for traditional sporting events and potentially more with a boxing configuration, setting the stage for one of the largest crowds of the boxing year.
Netflix’s involvement also makes Fury-Joshua another major step in the streaming service’s expansion into live boxing. Reports leading into Thursday’s announcement indicated Netflix had been heavily involved in negotiations surrounding the date, venue and timing of the event.
