Andy Dominguez edged out veteran Byron Rojas in a thrilling 10-round split decision Saturday night to claim the WBC USA Junior Flyweight title at the Tropicana Atlantic City. The tightly contested main event, promoted by Boxing Insider Promotions, delivered nonstop action from bell to bell.
Fought largely in close quarters, the bout featured consistent, high-volume exchanges as both fighters went toe-to-toe. Dominguez invested heavily in body work, attempting to wear Rojas down over the course of the fight. Rojas, undeterred, fired back with sharp combinations, keeping the fight razor-close down the stretch.
Ultimately, Dominguez pulled ahead on two scorecards, winning by margins of 97-93 and 96-94, while Rojas claimed the third at 97-93. With the win, the Las Vegas-based Dominguez improves to 13-1. Rojas, fighting out of Holland, Michigan by way of Nicaragua, drops to 29-5-3.

Martin used smart counterpunching and an accurate straight left to outbox the aggressive Butt. Though Butt had his moments, it wasn’t enough to sway the judges. Scores: 79-73, 78-74, 77-75.
Martin (Chicago) improves to 19-8, while Butt (Philadelphia) falls to 20-3.
Bruce Seldon Jr. def. Alexis Soriano Taveras (KO1):
It took just 46 seconds for Seldon to end matters with a punishing left hand to the body. The shot dropped Taveras for the full count.
Seldon (Smithville, NJ) remains unbeaten at 7-0 (6 KOs). Taveras (Dominican Republic) is now 3-3.
Roney Hines def. Ed Fountain (UD, 8 rounds):
Hines cruised to a clear decision victory in their heavyweight clash, earning scores of 80-72 (twice) and 79-73.
Hines (Cleveland) moves to 15-0-1. Fountain (St. Louis) slides to 14-10.
Julio Sanchez III def. Alexander Stone (TKO3):
Sanchez dominated through three rounds, opening a cut around Stone’s right eye and forcing a stoppage.
Sanchez (Pleasantville, NJ) improves to 2-1 with one KO. Stone (Jackson, TN) drops to 1-6-1.
