Sergio Mora looking for KO in return

On April 19th 2013Sergio Mora will travel to Phoenix, AZ to square off with the heavy handed hometown favorite Jesus Gonzales (27-2).  Mora, who is coming off 2 questionable decision losses in his past 3 fights, is not allowing two controversial decisions deter him from traveling to face another highly touted fighter in his hometown. "I am excited to be on TV so that if I get robbed again people can see the decision." explained Sergio Mora to ATG Radio.

Jesus Gonzales, the hard punching Phoenix southpaw, will be making the move to the middleweight division after suffering a heartbreaking loss to Adonis Stevenson in an IBF Super Middleweight eliminator.  Mora believe that Gonzales' move down to middleweight will play as an advantage.

"It is going to be an advantage for me.  It was like when I moved down to Jr. Middleweight.  It took a lot out of me to make that weight.  I had been fighting middleweight.  I only fought 3 times at Jr. Middleweight and two of those time were Vernon and 1 fight with Shane.  I had to drain to make that weight.   Making the weight was just one thing then getting in the ring.  That is why it is an advantage for me but if he has an easier time than i did going to Jr. middleweight it will be an advantage for him."

Even though Mora only has 7 stoppages as a pro, his game plan is not to let the power punching hometown fighter reach the final bell. He is a strong puncher.  He is a southpaw and I am fighting another guy in his hometown.  I am not going into his hometown and expect a decision I am going to go in there and stop this guy.  He is a big guy and I do well against big guys.  I will be going in there for a knockout."

Luckily fans will be able to witness this epic "boxer vs. puncher" showdown LIVE!  The early favorite to land this exciting telecast is ESPN2 for their "Friday Night Fight" series but with Showtime as well as Wealth TV, who is surging in the boxing community, showing interest only time will tell.

"Regardless of who broadcasts this telecast doesn't matter to me as long as the boxing fans around the country are able to witness this monumental fight.  I know Jesus & Sergio both want this victory badly to bounce back into title contention so we can expect an early "Fight of the Year" candidate on April 19th here in Phoenix" proclaims Ralph Velez, the VP of FanBase Promotions.  He added  "All of the details on this event will be available shortly".
