Jessie Vargas opened up the Bradley-Provodnikov in good fashion as he and Wale Omotoso put on an action packed ten round fight. Vargas (22-0, 9 KO's) defeated Wale Omotoso (23-1 19 KO's) by Unanimous Decision. Omotoso seemed to control the beginning of the fight with his hard punches and continuous pressure. Vargas, known for establishing a jab and boxing, didn't back down from Omotoso often engaging in toe to toe action. Omotoso used that to his advantage as he landed very hard shots, and put Vargas down to a knee in the second round. Vargas started to establish his jab and began to come on in the middle of the fight nearly stopping Omotoso in round five, a round that will most likely be up for round of the year. After that Vargas seemed to control the tone of the fight, but rounds were very hard to score. It seemed a draw or split decision was bound to happen. Scores were 97-92, 96-93, 96-93 all in favor of Vargas
