Bernstein calls Canelo-Trout 50/50

Hall Of Fame Boxing Announcer Al Bernstein, will be ringside to call the Super Welterweight title unification match between WBC

Champion Saul “Canelo" Alvarez and WBA Champ Austin Trout on February 20th in San Antonio Texas. The fight will be shown on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING.

Bernstein said this fight  is “as near a perfect style match-up as you can have in a match.” He explained, “On the one hand you have

Canelo who is a combination puncher who throws with power and attacks with purpose. Then on the other hand you have Austin who is a consummate boxer, but one who counter punches very well and can land with enough authority to stop advances, as he did against Miguel Cotto. These two styles should make for a very good match.”

More than 30,000 fans will watch this match live in the Alamodome and Bernstein feels that adds to the bout’s appeal. “The energy of that crowd will create an additional level of excitement and will make our telecast even more appealing. Those are great boxing fans in that

region of the country and their presence on national television will enhance the standing of the sport right now,” Al said.
