Undefeated power punching sensation Gennady Golovkin kept his impressive knockout streak in tact as he crushed Matthew Macklin with a 3rd round KO vicotory Saturday night at the MGM Grand at the Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, CT. Golovkin stalked down Macklin with powerful combinations for the entire three rounds, and ended the fight early in the 3rd round with a vicious body shot. Golovkin improved to 27-0, 24 KO's and staked a claim at being the best middleweight in the world today. Golovkin's name has been increasing in popularity with each knockout victory, as he extends his streak to 14 KO victories in a row starting back in 2008. The early victory over the highly respected Macklin has made him the people's middleweight champion even over the great Sergio Martinez. Golovkin has been looking to get a fight against Martinez for the past year now but has had no success in luring him in, and with Martinez being out till 2014 with an injury, it's unlikely the fight will happen anytime soon.
