Juan Manuel Marquez vs Mike Alvarado hits The Forum May 17th

After weeks of speculation, a deal was finally reached that will put former world champion and Mexican superstar Juan Manuel Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KO's) up against Mike Alvarado (34-2, 23 KO's) on May 17th at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA. The fight will be held at a catchweight of 143 lbs. Both fighters are coming off big losses. Marquez is coming off a split decision loss to Timothy Bradley, a fight that he has voiced he would like to avenge. Alvarado was stopped by the hard hitting Ruslan Provodnikov in October of last year. Top Rank has hinted that the winner of this fight could end up facing the winner of Pacquiao-Bradley II that will be held on April 12th.
