Quillin used precise punching and good body shots to keep Konecny at bay the entire night. Konecny may have exposed some weaknesses in the undefeated Quillin by landing big shots while Quillin allowed himself to sit on the ropes some rounds however Konecny's lack of power hurt his ability to get Quillin in any sort of trouble. After the fight Quillin said that he would be interested in facing the likes of Golovkin, the Cotto-Martinez winner, and Daniel Jacobs.
