For the second time in three years undefeated pound for pound boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather (46-0, 26 KO's) topped the Forbes Highest-Paid Athletes list as the number one highest paid athlete in the world, brining in an estimated $105 million between two fights. Mayweather's estimated earnings land him among the list of only two professional athletes to ever break the $100 million dollar mark without it being estimated to inflation. The only other athlete to accomplish it had been Tiger Woods.
Mayweather's bout against Saul Canelo Alvarez in September of 2013 earned him $41 million in guaranteed money. The following bout against Marcos Maidana in May of 2014 earned him $32 million dollars. Forbes estimated that he earned roughly $32 million more dollars in PPV revenue from both fights, although almost all of that extra $32 million was credited for the Canelo fight. The Forbes magazine estimates from June to June of each year.
