The highly anticipated rematch between former light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (28-1, 14 KO’s) and Tony Bellew (22-2-1, 14 KO’s) is set for November 22nd at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, Merseyside, in the United Kingdom. The fight is expected to take place as a cruiserweight fight. As of right now the fight is not being televised on US television but that is expected to change in the coming weeks.
Cleverly managed to defeat Bellew with a majority decision in their first fight nearly three years ago. Since then, each fighter has only lost once, and to arguably the two best light heavyweights in the world. Cleverly was demolished by the hard hitting Sergey Kovalev in August of 2013 but has managed to rack up two wins since the disappointing defeat. Bellew was also beaten badly by the hard hitting Adonis Stevenson in six rounds but has also won his last two fights since the loss in November of 2013. Both fighter’s now fight at the cruiserweight division and are looking to re-spark their careers into bigger fights and maybe even back into the light heavyweight division in the future.
