Errol Spence Jr is considered by most as one of the top prospects in boxing. Spence will face his biggest challenge to date against Roberto Garcia on the Adrien Broner vs Shawn Porter undercard. The bout will serve as the co-feature on NBC @ MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
“I’m excited to have the chance to fight Roberto Garcia,” Spence said in a media release Friday. “He is a great fighter and I’m happy to have an opportunity to fight on this huge card. It is definitely the biggest opportunity of my career so far, and I won’t disappoint.” - Errol Spence Jr.
Spence was member of the 2012 U.S. Olympic team and has proven his boxing skills. Many in the boxing industry feel he is destined to be a top boxer but has not really face any top opposition. Garcia (37-3, 23 KOs) is no push over and has won his last 9 fights since losing to Antonio Margarito in 2010.
“I can’t wait to get back in the ring and showcase my skills on the biggest stage,” Garcia said. “Spence Jr. is a strong up-and coming fighter, but I have experience on my side and I’m going to show it on June 20th.”
