In an interview with the Philadelphia Daily News, the legendary Bernard Hopkins explained that HBO has given him a deadline to get his final bout in order, and says that he is looking to James DeGale as a possible opponent.
"I'm interested in beating a guy up, the same guy that beat up Dirrell." Hopkins stated.
Hopkins has been fighting at 175 for the past few years and a DeGale fight would have to take place at 168. That didn't seem to bother him much. DeGale's Promoter Eddie Hearn stated that he was looking at Hopkins, Bute, and Kessler as the next foes for James DeGale. The fight could take place over in the UK sometime this fall.
