South Africa’s Thomas Oosthuizen is set to defends his IBO light heavyweight belt against Robert Berridge of New Zealand @ Emperors Palace near Kempton Park on Saturday night in a battle of southpaws.
Robert Berridge is a late replacement for Roberto Bolonti who withdrew from the bout under controversial circumstances. Tho he is considered a "stand in" he has a knockout ratio of 72.41%. He has a record of 26-2-1, 21 KOs mostly against low key opposition. He lost to Vasily Lepikhin in April of 2014 by TKO and since then has won two consecutive bouts against Togasilimai Letoa & Andrew Robinson.
The 27-year-old Oosthuizen, with a record of 25-0-2, 14 KOs, with a 54% knock out ratio, held the IBO super middleweight belt before moving up to light heavyweight in March this year when he outpointed Ryno Liebenberg in a clash for the vacant IBO light heavyweight belt.
If Oosthuizen, defeats Berridge which many believe he will, Oosthuizen will likely take on Adonis Stevenson this September.
The fight will take place this Sat, Jun 06 2015. Check out the Thomas Oosthuizen vs Robert Berridge Tale of The Tape .
