Vazquez Jr. vs Vargas co-feature Cotto-Geale

Former junior featherweight champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. will face Mexican Fernando Vargas, in the co-feature to Cotto vs Geale event this Saturday June 6th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The bout is scheduled for eight rounds in the featherweight division. The fight will not be televised on HBO.

"I feel very well. I do not know if that maturity has come into my life in boxing, but I feel good, "said Vazquez Jr. "This is an eight-round bout to come me well and keep me active. It came with a new team and we are ready for whatever comes, "he added.

Vazquez Jr., who has an 24-4-1 and 19 KOs record, is coming off a win against Jonathan Arellano last November. Fernando Vargas recently lost to Andres Tapia by UD this past April.

The show will be in conjunction with Cotto and his new promoter, Roc Nation Sports.
