Undefeated Welterweight Denis Hogan was able to keep his undefeated record in tact against a tough Kenny Abril by winning a unanimous decision at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, NY on CBS Sports Netowork. Scores were 97-93 97-93, 96-94.
Abril gave Hogan all he could handle in the fight as he was able to stun Hogan on a few occasions. Hogan was able to dictate the pace for most of the fight by using great counters as Abril came in looking for big lunches. Hogan improved to 22-0-1, 7 KO's with the victory.
In the Co-Main event, Canada's Tony Luis defeated Edward Valdez by unanimous decision. Luis was able to control the fight with his jab, trapping Valdez on the ropes time and time again with combinations. Luis was too fast and skilled for Valdez. Valdez spent most of the night looking to land one punch, an over hand right, that rarely found a home. Scores were 80-72, 80-72, and 79-73 for Luis. Luis improved to 20-3, 7 KO's with the win.
Opening the card undefeated heavyweight prospect Jarrell Miller destroyed Excell Holmes with a 1st round TKO. Miller improved to 14-0-1, 12 KO's.
