Zolani Tete (20-3 17) will clash against Diuhi Olguin Ramirez (11-3-3, 9) at the Orient Theatre in East London on Friday September 4th. This is a scheduled 12 rounds in an international junior bantamweight contest.
Zolani Tete, from South Africa, is on a four bout winning streak defeating Paul Butler, this past March by TKO in round eight. He lost the IBF World super flyweight title because Golden Boy Promotions won the bid of $25 000 (approximately R305 000) of which Tete was only entitled to 75%, he decided to relinquish the belt as he allegedly would only end up with a small purse of R71 000 after deductions, for risking his title.
Ramirez, 26, turned pro December 2008 is fighting outside his country for the first time. He is coming off three consecutive knockouts in the past year. He last fought Cristian Quezada in June winning by TKO in round one. Ramirez, has never been beyond seven rounds in his career.
In the co-feature Xolisani Ndongeni 16-0; 7 meets Miguel Angel Escalada 12-6; 7 over 10 rounds in an International lightweight bout.
