IBF featherweight champion Lee Selby (21-1, 8 KOs) will make his first title defense against Fernando Montiel (54-4-2, 39 KOs) as part of Premier Boxing Champions. This is part of the Devon Alexander vs. Aron Martinez event that is scheduled for Oct 14th.
Lee Selby only has one lost to Samir Mouneimne back in 2009. It was a four round fight that ended with Selby losing on PTS, 37/39 scores across the cards. Since then he has not lost a fight. He is coming off a a win over Evgeny Gradovich in May @ O2 Arena (Millenium Dome), Greenwich, London, United Kingdom. Gradovich got cut over his left eye and could not continue past the 8th round. This was Selby's his first major world title.
Fernando Montiel, is on a eight fight winning streak. In his last fight he won against Rogelio Jun Doliguez by UD over 10 rounds, scores: judges: Leobardo Ibarra Bracamontes 99-88, Esteban Franco 99-88, Sergio Lechuga 99-88. Doliguez was down twice in the first round. In 2011 Montiel, suffered a devastating lost to Nonito Donaire where he was knocked out bad in the second round.
