Two-division world champion Timothy Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KOs) will take on former world champion Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 23 KOs) November 7th @ at the Thomas & Mack Center, Nevada, Las Vegas. The event promoted by Top Rank, will be televised on HBO and schedule for 10 rounds.
Whenever Timothy Bradley fights there seems to be controversy. In his last fight against Jessie Vargas, this past June @ StubHub Center, Carson, California, USA he was winning the fight with a strong performance. Until the last 10 seconds left when Vargas caught him with a big right hand that rocked him so much that it seemed as if the Ref Pat Russell would suddenly stop the fight. That is exactly what happen.. however... thats because Pat Russell thought it was the end of the round. Vargas thought he stopped the fight and won by TKO. Bradley was badly hurt and some think that the actions by Russell robbed a potential KO by Vargas. The fight went to the cards with Bradley winning by UD, scores, judges: Kermit Bayless 115-112, Max DeLuca 116-112, Rocky Young 117-111.
Brandon Rios, has not fought since January when he took on Mike Alvarado and won by a 3rd round TKO. Before that he took on Diego Gabriel Chaves, who was DQed in the 9th round. Diego Chaves had points deducted in the third and seventh rounds then was disqualified by referee Vic Drakulich in the ninth for throwing an elbow to the face. Rios only two loses are against Manny Pacquiao & Mike Alvarado. He sports a 67% knockout ratio and is always fun to watch.
Bradley vs Rios has fight of the year written all over it and will definitely be action packed. This is not a fight you want to miss.
Official announcement, tickets and information is scheduled for next week.
