Mayweather dominates Berto

Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd “Money” Mayweather (49-0, 26 KOs) scored a one-sided unanimous decision over Andre Berto (30-4, 23 KOs). The scores were 117-111, 118-110, 120-108.This move Mayweather's record to 49-0 .

Mayweather’s usual hand speed, defense, and footwork was to much for Berto to handle. Berto had brief moments in rounds here and there but seemed very confused and could not figure out the slippery Mayweather. Berto's speed was apparent but he had a hard time landing anything and never reall seemed to attack the body. In the late round Berto was trying to make it a phonebooth fight smothering Mayweather but still had very little success.

As the fight continued into the late round Berto became more frustrated as Mayweather was slipping all his punches and countering with the right hand. . Floyd played it conservative keeping his distance using the ring and his footwork to his advantage.

At the end of the fight Mayweather stated, “My career is over. It’s official."
