Cruz-Cota Oct 9th for WBO Latino super featherweight title

Orlando Cruz (21-4-1, 11KOs) and Gabino Cota (18-4-1, 16KOs) will fight for the vacant WBO Latino super featherweight title in a scheduled 10 round bout. The fight takes place Oct 9th @ Civic Center Kissimmee, Florida, USA. The event kicks off the fall boxing season on Telemundo, promoted by All Star Boxing.

Orlando Cruz is one for two in his last three fights. He is coming off a win against Edwin Lopez this past June. The fight ended with a TKO in the 4th round. Cruz four loses are to Gamalier Rodriguez, Orlando Salido, Daniel Ponce De Leon & Cornelius Lock. Cruz made headlines years ago as the first openly gay boxer.

Gabino Cota recently won by TKO over Javier Lopez ending a three bout losing streak. Cota started his boxing career in 2011 defeating Jorge Vilches by KO in the first round.
