Junior flyweight Pedro Guevara (26-1-1, 17 KOs), 26, of Mexico, will face Yu Kimura (17-2-1, 3 KOs), 31, on Nov. 28 in Sendai, Japan. Guevara will be making his third defense of the WBC World light flyweight title, the fight is scheduled for 12rds of boxing.
Pedro Guevara, is coming off a dominating UD win over Ganigan Lopez this past July,scores: judges: Humberto Olivares 116-112, Victor Manuel Cervantes 116-112, Thomas Nardone 117-111. His only lost is to John Riel Casimero by a close split decision back in 2012, scores: judges: Matthew Podgorski 111-116, Levi Martinez 113-114, Dr Ruben M Garcia 114-113. Guevara was knocked down in the 1st round.
Japan’s Yu Kimura (17-2-1, 3 KOs) is on an 8 consecutive winning streak since losing to Ryoichi Taguchi in 2011 by TKO. In his last outing this past Aug he defeated Jesus Faro by UD.
Guevara is headed to hostile turf but is is no stranger to fighting in Japan.
