Middleweight Japanese gold medalist Murata takes on Jackson

Ryota Murata (7-0, 5 KOs) will take on Gunnar Jackson (22-6-3, 8 KOs), 29, of New Zealand on the Timothy Badley Jr. vs Brandon Rios event at the Thomas & Mack Center, Saturday Nov 7th. This will be a Middleweight bout scheduled for 10 rounds of boxing.

Middleweight Ryota Murata, 2012 Japanese Olympic Gold Medalist who signed with Top Rank in 2013 will make his American debut. He is coming off a TKO win over Douglas Damiao Ataide this past May in Japan. Murata started his pro boxing career in 2013. Currently he has 45 professional rounds of boxing with a 71% knockout ratio. “We’re really excited about having him fighting in the U.S. on a card like this,” Top Rank vice president Carl Moretti said.

Gunnar Jackson is one and one in his last two fights. He is coming off a win against Daniel Roy Maxwell this past week. He has been busy since his pro debut in 2010. No notable fighters on his resume at this time.
