WBA World featherweight title holder , Jesus Cuellar (27-1, 21 KOs) will defend his title against Jonathan Oquendo (26-4, 16 KOs) Saturday, December 5 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on the live on Jacobs-Quillin fight card. The bout will be telecasted on SHOWTIME (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT) and scheduled for 10 rounds of boxing.
Jesus Cuellar is coming off a stellar 8RD knockout over Vic Darchinyan this past June. He also has two other notable knockouts, Ruben Tamayo TKO 5R & Juan Manuel Lopez 2R 2R. His only lost is a 7RD TKO against Oscar Escandon in 2011. Escandon who is going to fight Gary Russell Jr on Nov 14th for the WBC World featherweight title. “I am glad to be defending my world title once again this year against a solid fighter like Jonathan Oquendo, who is fresh off a great win over Jhonny Gonzalez,” said Cuellar.

Oquendo was down in round one & Gonzalez down in round two. His last lost was to Abner Mares in 2014 by UD. “I’m very happy about this opportunity because it is my first world title fight and I’m going to fight in New York for the first time in my career with the support of all the Puerto Ricans there,” said Oquendo.
