Former world champion Martin Murray (32-2-1, 15 KO's) squares off against hard hitting Arthur Abraham (43-4, 29 KO's) this Saturday night in Germany. Murray and Abraham are two of the biggest names in boxing in the middleweight division. The crossroads fight will put the winner in a great position to face the top guys in the division. Both guys have moved up and will be fighting for the WBO Super Middleweight championship. Here is what Murray had to say about the fight.
''Abraham is a great champion and I'm expecting a tough fight but I just feel that the timing is right for me now,'' reveals Murray. ''I think my first World title fight against Sturm may have come a little bit too early. I jumped straight from domestic to world level, so even though there was an argument to say I won that fight, I think it came to soon for me.
''Against Martinez, I knew I could win but going into the fight there were still some doubts. Whereas this time, I know I have it within me to win. I've got the ring experience, I've got the know-how, and I really feel, despite being in Germany, I'm going to get a fair crack of the whip.''
Murray's only two losses come at the hands of the Gennady Golovkin and Sergio Martinez, with the Martinez fight being semi-controversial. This will be Murray's 5th fight this year. He's won three in a row since losing to Golovkin in February. Abraham hasn't lost since 2013.
