Danny Garcia talks Robert Guerrero

Undefeated welterweight contender Danny Garcia completes his move to 147 this month when he takes on the veteran Robert Guerrero January 23rd on PBC on FOX. Garcia has fallen hard from the ranks of the fans since his upset win over Lucas Matthysse two years ago. With arguably two fights he should have lost to Herrera and Peterson, and victories in two fights where two guys, Salka and Malignaggi, had no business being in there with him, Garcia is looking to start 2016 fresh. Though Robert Guerrero doesn't scream "big threat", he is a veteran that might be able to give Garcia a hard time. Garcia spoke of the fight in the conference call yesterday:

12 MONTHS FROM NOW, WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF?

"I want to remain undefeated and hopefully be a champion if the opportunity comes up. We're just taking it one fight at a time for right now and that's how I did my whole career and that's how I'm going to keep doing it."

DO YOU SEE YOURSELF BEING MORE ACTIVE?

"Yes, I would love to stay active; I would love to stay active. But, you know, that my team's job., I'm a fighter so whatever my team wants, I'll do. So if they want me to fight two times or three times or four times, then that's what I'm going to do. But as for now we're focused on January 23."

WHAT KIND OF CHALLENGE DOES ROBERT PRESENT?

"I'm looking forward to - I know he's going to come ready, but we're ready. I'm looking forward to a challenge. I've prepared myself for a challenge every day, day-in and day-out. So I expect nothing but a great fight and a great performance by me."
