One possible bout alongside Antonio Orozco vs. Roberto Ortiz in the works for the mega fight between Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin this September 16th is shaping up. Undefeated Super bantamweights Diego De La Hoya and Randy Caballero are looking to square off on the main stage.
De La Hoya, has fought three times this year and is coming off a UD against Alan Isaias Luques Castillo. This fight is a great test for Diego De La Hoya how has been looking solid since since debuting at the age of 19 in 2013.
Randy Caballero, has only fought once this year against Jesus Ruiz. The fight will be Caballero’s third since losing his bantamweight title on the scales. He did not fight in 2015 and has only fought once a year in 14' 16' and 17'. Caballero’s first defense of his International Boxing Federation world bantamweight title was set for Nov. 21, 2015 against Lee Haskins at the Mandalay Bay Events Center as part of an HBO-televised undercard for the Canelo Alvarez vs Miguel Cotto main event. Caballero missed weight by 5 1/2 pounds.
It’s a good, well-matched fight between undefeated rising prospects and should be a great fight.
