"I'm serious about returning" - De La Hoya

"I'm serious, I'm still training, we'll see what's going to happen, I'm still training," De La Hoya said to ESPN Deportes.

Oscar De La Hoya, who ended his career @ 39W 6L 0D 30KOs made waves in the boxing world when he announced that he was training and wants to fight UFC superstar Conor McGregor as a comeback opponent. Then things shifted as he started to call out Floyd Mayweather Jr. - "I'm still open to a possible comeback. I know it won't be with Mayweather, because he does not like to fight real fighters."

De La Hoya @ 44 years old has not been in the ring since 2008 when he lost to Pacquiao by a TKO in the 8th round. He fought Mayweather in 2007 and lost by a close SD, scores - Chuck Giampa 112-116 | Jerry Roth 113-115 | Tom Kaczmarek 115-113 .

Its interesting because if for some reason De La Hoya vs Mayweather 2 happens we could see another $100M PPV event. Just that fact that De La Hoya is coming out of retirement will get peoples attention. Now if the rematch happens because the 1st fight was so close people will want to watch. Does the Golden Boy stance a chance? No. but could he make a lot of money for just one fight? Yes. Will Mayweather fight again? Yes, for another $100M YES. Will people pay? Yes.

Do we really want to see the fight.. not Really but that does not mean if its official you will wont watch. You will and so will I.
