Jermall Charlo gambles and loses big time at the club, $150K in cash and jewels stolen after altercation

Jermall Charlo suffered a loss Saturday night via controversial robbery, but it was not in the ring -- it was in the club.

According to the New York Daily News, Charlo and his entourage were involved in a fight at the 40/40 Club on West 25th Street near Broadway in Manhattan.

However, during the raucous, his friends left his Louis Vuitton bag unattended, allowing a group of women to walk away with over $40,000 in cash and $115,000 in jewelry.

Charlo was in the area to watch WBC heavyweight titleholder Deontay Wilder defend his belt with a 10th-round TKO of Luis Ortiz at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

It is unknown why Charlo was carrying so much dough, but the alleged thieves did not get away undetected. Surveillance footage spotted at least five women leaving the club with the bag.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.

Charlo (26-0, 20 KO's), 27, of Houston, Texas is slated to take on Hugo Centeno for the WBC interim title on April 21 in a Showtime-televised bout. The venue has not been determined.

Charlo previously held the IBF junior middleweight title before moving up to the 160-pound weight class in 2017. In his only bout of the year, Charlo scored a fourth-round TKO of former title contender Jorge Sebastian Heiland, who was fighting injured, and did not put up much of a fight.

His twin brother Jermell (30-0, 15 KO's) is the WBC 154-pound champion and was named FightNights.com's 2017 Fighter of the Year.
